Ducati Project 2010 post #13

I thought why do I have soooo much friggin seat anyway???? I gave er some thought and did some stealthy cutting. Not gonna give anyone reason to ask me "Can I have a ride??......." Fuck You! Go get your own Ducati.......
I whacked it off, Hmm.. I hope I am not going in the wrong direction? If I get it in my eye..oop..er..umm... If I get it wrong, I can always chop the other Monza frame I have in the side yard, and put it all back where it was.
I had to grind off a few pieces and doo some fitting.
I had to give things a bit of tweeking with a friction Jack to get the right width to fit smoothly in with the lower frame loops.

and there it is. We will call him "Stumpy" the wife says, ummm NO! that will not be the right name for this bike when I am done, I am hoping something without negative connotations to say the least.
I am thinking I am still going to put a small lil butt-stop in the rear, a hump still, but much different from the last one, and this time it will be a part of the seat. covered like the rest of the seat. I am also going to change the front and swoop it up a bit in the front for a little nut-padding and a smoother transition to the tank

And that's how we are sitting right now. I like the look without fenders, I am thinking of making a rear splash inner fender out of aluminum-from the swing arm pivot to the seat bottom nicely shaped,... with aluminum number plates on either side?, and a new front fork brace, and tossing the fenders all together? Hmmmm???

I did also drop the side kick stand, which was also a welded on part of the left front motor mount. I used the right plain motor mount from the donor bike- on the left side (fit like a glove). It will look much better when the motor is polished and jewel-like without it. And with a center stand still der, we didn't need a side stand anyway.

(he throws the camera to his assistant and mutters "I'm Spent" and walks away)

Ducati Project 2010 post #12

First of all I got this New gas cap! I know what you are thinking...."that's really cool" and "YES" I agree but I had to order it from England, and it was really expensive, and it is made of Bakelite with a cardboard gasket???. No wonder the tank didn't have one it probably broke or stripped-out. Some day I will have to get someone to make me one from aluminum. But for now this will have to do.
Then I wanted to do something really cool with the rear foot peg mounts. I himmed and Hawed, then thought of something completely different. Finding myself sucking my thumb watching south park, I stormed back to the garage and chopped them off! Again thinking of what is left of my right thumb.. I will keep the center piece in-for a center stand bump-stop and fill in the ends with something? I thought of welding them shut and smooth, but if you think about it,.. there is much you can do with a glorious hole down low like this one. I could figure some led lights with cool colored defusers, or I could weld in nuts and secure some tantalizing Little deely/bobble do-dad or reflector. ((Easy Special K)),....stop drooling on the key board. I know how you get bout reflectors lights, and shiny things that do absolutely nothing.
